I am Gabriel Ibarra, I am 19 years old, and I am from Ecuador, I was born in Quito, although I was raised and spent my whole life in Quevedo, Los Rios. I graduated from high school in 2020 and I´m currently studying Civil Engineering at the “Universidad San Francisco de Quito – Ecuador”. I´m a person who likes to exercise a lot and go to the gym, I do not think I have many hobbies, but among the main ones are playing video games, volleyball, and many times I like to draw. At the same time, I like to be in contact with nature, and I consider myself someone who likes to take care of the environment and be aware of the climate situation in which we find ourselves, so I usually recycle or do activities to help, I also like to learn recipes for cooking, I consider it a way to distract me and thus increase my gastronomic knowledge.
As I mentioned before I study civil engineering, I chose this career mainly because I like physics and math, solving problems is something I really like, even if they´re difficult and at some point, I cannot, the satisfaction I feel when I can solve them just makes it all worth it. This career encompasses a lot, it oversees creating and designing, that is why I would really like to make buildings to be able to protect people and provide them with unique models that have an impact. I like to teach, and I love to do it in the simplest way that exists so that there is no confusion or rejection towards the subject I´m teaching, knowing that I managed to make someone understand something that looked complicated at the beginning to something simple, gives me an incomparable feeling. As an Au Pair I consider that I could be particularly good at teaching math in the simplest way to a child, I´ve done it with my nephews, and I´ve been successful in transmitting my knowledge to them.
Thanks to this relationship with my nephews, I find it satisfying to work with children, I know that many times it can be stressful trying to teach children, but it´s worth it to see their happiness in understanding something or just seeing how they are grateful and honest, that is being children. So, thanks to this life experience and the fact that I know how to cook both healthy and junk food (as it is always good to treat yourself) as well as learn new recipes, I believe I´m a good Au pair who would be able to provide knowledge, care and help raise them to be loving and lively individuals.
As far as driving is concerned, I enjoy and am a controlled driver, I used to drive very often, however, living out of town from where I lived with my parents, I no longer have access to a car like I used to. Every time I visit my parents, I use the car so I do not lose the practice and still feel used to it, I prefer to drive carefully on the roads and be calm because I can avoid any accident, I´m not a fan of speed because it usually brings many consequences.
Having 1 little nephew and 3 nieces has helped me a lot to understand the language of children, and to be an open minded person, I´m always willing to play with them whenever they want and whatever they want, whether it´s playing with dolls or playing soccer because at the end of the day every child is different, but they keep a similarity between them which is having fun and that´s the most important thing in childhood, to be able to create good memories and full of happiness.
I can be like a big brother to your children, I can get along well with them because I like to play volleyball, soccer, and basketball, in case they don't like to do any activity that requires physical effort I could play video games or whatever they want, I can learn quickly when I explain something new.
I would not only be there for your children when the good times happen, I would also be there when something happens to them or they feel bad, since we all go through situations that put us in a bad emotional state and I´ll be there to support them in everything they need and allow me to do. In case you and your family are looking for an Au Pair with the above-mentioned characteristics, together with my personality, I would love to join your family.
