Dear future host family,

My name is Rayssa, but you can call me Ray.

I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I live with my husband Jonatha, who I've been married for 3 years. He is the person who supports me the most and gives me the strength to do the exchange, because he knows how this experience is incredible. He has lived and studied 2 years in the USA. He is a IT worker and he has a degree in Computer Science. Together we have a little dog called “Floquinho” (little flock), it is our love.

My parents Paulo, Janaina and my sister Laryssa live in the same neighbourhood as me. We have a great relationship and we are always going out together. They are extremely excited about the idea of the exchange and give me all the support to do it, because they know that it is going to be a unique experience for me. We usually go out on weekends together, or we always schedule a family dinner to hangout.

I recently graduated from college in Human Resources Management. However, in the last 4 years I worked as an airport service agent at the international airport in Rio de Janeiro. I had direct contact with customers, solving problems, performing checkin, boarding flights, and any other needs that customers might had. I also have a first aid course. This job gave me opportunity to know many different cultures and made me interested in learning even more about each one.

I have many experiences with children, I started working taking care of children at a very young age. My first experience was working as a volunteer in my church, I was in charge of story time, feed them snacks and play with children from 5 to 10 years old. In the first church I worked for 5 years, every Wednesday and Sunday. I also taught choreography to children from 10 to 13 years old.

In 2016, I started taking care of Gabriel. I have been his nanny since he was 4 months old, until he was 3 years old. I used to bathe him, prepare and give him lunch and snack, we played together a lot and put him to sleep. I am completely in love with this little boy. We are super close and have a wonderful connection. Until today whenever I can we have playdates.
Currently, I am also a volunteer at the church where I belong, I take care of babies in the nursery and classes with children up to 5 years old.

In addition to all these experiences, I have a lot of little cousins, they are amazing and I love spending time with them. I have friends who have babies and they always ask me to help them take care of the children.

I have my faith in Jesus Christ. I am a very calm person, patient, reliable, empathetic, understandable, resilient person and most importantly, I love being with children. Their energy, peace and purity makes me see life in a lighter way, I manage to maintain a great relationship with the little ones.
I love music, I have a ukulele that I play at home, I worship and sing at the church where I belong, I like reading books, dancing, playing sports, what I like most is functional training. I love animals, but I am very afraid of amphibian and reptile animals, I would not be close to one of these.

I have had my driver's license since 2018 and I have been driving whenever is necessary and I never got involved in an accident.

My husband and I always love to travel and experience new cultures. In our trips we had the opportunity to know countries like Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Italy, France and of course the USA. In the USA we had the pleasure of visiting New York, Chicago and Miami, I was in love with the diversity and charm of New York, the receptivity of Chicago, and the beauty of Miami. All of these incredible cities have won a place in my heart, and I hope I can learn more about this incredible country. All these places that we passed left a little bit of them on us.

Well, I hope to find a good family that respects me and that allows me to learn more about their culture, their customs, learn the routine of American children. Knowing places and people, to know the USA more deeply living its customs day after day.
I would like to make dreams come true, such as visiting Orlando parks, taking my parents to the USA, visiting as many states as possible and perfecting English.

That's it. It's me, writing to you with all sincerity. I hope we can be a good match for each other. I will love to be your new AuPair.

I chose the AuPair program, because as I already said, it was the exchange that most identified me because I love being with children. My mother usually says I have a magnet for children, because they also love being with me. They always have a lot to teach us.

Thank you for your attention and reading so far.
I hope to see you soon.

Thank you very much!
Best,
Rayssa
