Dear host family,
My name is Mariana. I am 27 years old and I am from Brazil. I am recently gratuated at law school and now I am searching for new experiences that will allow me to get to know myself better and decide what I want for my future. I come from a very big family (speaking of my aunts, uncles, and all the rest of my family), but I live with my mother, my stepfather and one of my brothers (I have two brothers). My brother Viller is 20 years old and is attending the Veterinary School. My younger brother, Lucas Olímpio, 11, is in elementary school.
I live in northern Brazil, in a small town in the state of Pará, called Marabá. My mother tongue is, of course, Portuguese - br, and I also know the basics of English and Spanish. Besides that, I have been learing French by myself for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I think a cultural immersion would do me a lot of good. I have a big desire to have a first-hand experience of life outside my country of origin.
When it comes to experience with children, I have always helped to take care of my family's children from birth. I am involved in taking care of my brother daily. Besides that, I worked as a baby-sitter for many friends of my parents and even for people living in my building. I can say with ease that, honestly, I like to spend time with children and we get along very well. When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I like being outdoors, being with friends, walking, visiting places I haven't visited and reading a good book, I like to exercise.
