Nanny/Au Pair From Canada, Looking to work with the right family :)!

Dear Family,

I am Jessey, a 23-year-old (Male) soon to be 24 on March 3rd, working professional from Manitoba, Canada. I'm from a family of 7, My parents, Kim and Darren and my two brothers Drake (younger) and Daniel (older) in 2016 my parents became a foster home for my foster sister Megan (same age as I am) aswell her 2-year-old daughter Olivia. My family is of Metis on my Father's side and Polish on my Mother's side descent, The First Nations Metis are of French Canadian and Native American descent who originates from along the Red River in Manitoba. We have a rich and diverse background in culture, language, and traditions.

I just came home to spend some time with my family and work, after spending time in the Czech Republic. My family moved to the second-largest city, Brandon (population 48,859) in Manitoba when I was 6 years old from the small town of Birtle Manitoba ( population 642) where I am currently living and working.

I went to College in Brandon Manitoba, I studied Interactive Media Arts which involves Marketing and communications, E-commerce, Web design and development, and video and audio production. After completing college I went to the University of Manitoba and took my TEFOL specializing in teaching children and adolescents.

I describe myself as an open, friendly, organized, and loyal person. Also, a sense of responsibility is very important to me. I'm a helpful person, who laughs very often. In my free time, I read many books, I like to cook and bake, some say I have a natural or unnatural haha joy in cleaning and organizing. Writing is a big passion of mine if I have a comfortable spot and a blank paper and pencil I can write for hours on end, anything from poetry to stories and sometimes full novels haha. I like to spend as much time outdoors as possible, I feel the best creativity and ideas are found and formed outside where your imagination can expand.

Learning and experiencing a new culture and language is also a big passion of mine, it comes from when I was in elementary school in grade 5, my city had a fast influx of people from Latin America and the school system wasn't ready for such an influx of Non-English speaking students and we didn't have any ESL programs in place, my teacher had given me a corner of the classroom with my own desks and I was in charge of teaching the new students English. I was 10 years old and now put into the teacher's lounge and was being given crash courses in lesson planning and teaching haha. for the next 4 years, I was teaching students of all ages during my recess in the library and while in class. Being exposed to Spanish and the new students from Latin America taught me so much about their culture and language and have implanted a demanding desire to learn more about the cultures of the world. It is a time I will always look back on and be so thankful for, it helped me grow so much as a person and implemented a strongly dedicated work ethic in me.

When it comes to childcare experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts. from April 2014 to March 1st, 2018 (when I had left to the Czech Republic) I volunteered at the City of Brandon's Immigration office providing English lessons to children aged 3 to 12 as well teenagers 13 to 18, on an individual and group setting while working in the Day and Evening Care Program. I developed lesson plans and organized indoor and outdoor recreational activities: we sang, danced, played games, role-played, drew, painted, and narrated stories. We also visited the public library, the local animal park, went out on picnics and local events.

I have a long history of babysitting children of friends, family, and colleagues, during days, evenings, overnights as well as extended periods. I have a strong ability to build relationships with children. I am the first person that my friends and family turn to when they need the extra helping hand with their children as well as their home. Over the years I've taken the caring role for newborns to teenagers and have always enjoyed every moment of it.

I would like to be an Au Pair in Paris because I have experience with childcare and I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that it is like a big brother for your children and comes along with responsibilities for them. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations. I am used to being apart of a household where everybody puts in their effort to make a comfortable, lively and caring home and I would love to bring my efforts into another home and build a bond with a family that will never be forgotten.
