Hi I'm Kate, an au pair from Australia, looking for a job and cultural exchange with a nice family in Torino, Italy starting in late November 2019 and/or late January 2020.
I am honest and a hard worker, used to change and adapting to new situations. In high school, I lived with a French-speaking family in Belgium for 3 months. The family had 3 young (4 years, 5 years, 6 years) children and I helped play with them and keep them entertained, as well as cooking dinner for them occasionally. I have also lived overseas in Canada for 6 months on university exchange, where I studied and improved my French. I really enjoy learning languages and finding out about different cultures. So I am keen to help out a family and learn about their culture and improve my Italian, and also share some of my culture with you if you would like. Food is a key part of culture. I love trying new foods and enjoy cooking so I am happy to help out with cooking and also share some different recipes if you would like to try them. I can cook pasta and pizza from scratch as well as lots of baking (especially anything with chocolate!) and food from other cultures such as tacos and sushi.
I enjoy looking after children and helping them learn. I have extensive baby-sitting experience and also regularly work with children at my job at the local science museum. I have done a lot of looking after children since I was a young teenager but I have never been a live in au pair before. I have looked after toddlers and helped feed and bathe them and get them to sleep by reading them a bedtime story or lullaby. I also have experience with older children, picking them up from school, taking them on trips to the city, playing sports games outdoors and getting them involved in the kitchen such as helping decorate biscuits or making gnocchi.
At the museum I assist with activities such as playing with robots and blocks, doing crafts and learning about space. This means I have lots of experience and ideas for fun activities to do with children which help them learn too.
I enjoy working with kids because they can have very interesting ideas and give you a different perspective on life, and they also teach you very important lessons about patience.
I am a curious person, and enjoy learning about the world around me and how things work. I also love reading, cooking and sports such as swimming, hiking and netball. I work part-time in Customer Service at a sports stadium, where I greet patrons and help make sure they have a good day out watching the football. Whenever kids come with their parents, I always make sure I greet them too and can help calm down kids who are upset by giving talking to them and giving them an activity book.
I am just finishing my science studies and want to experience something different. I am coming to Europe for a few months before I start my Master's degree next year. I am hoping to visit some of my friends and family, as well as, help out a family and learn about their culture by being an au pair. I love working with children and living in another culture and being an au pair abroad lets me do both!

Mi chiamo Kate e vengo dall'Australia. La famiglia di mia mamma è italiana, quindi mi piacerebbe vivere un po 'in Italia per migliorare il mio italiano. Al momento, mia sorella è alla pari a Torino, quindi mi piacerebbe rimanere a Torino, così posso anche passare un po 'di tempo con lei quando non sono aiutando la famiglia.
Sono onesta e un gran lavoratrice, abituato a cambiare e ad adattarsi a nuove situazioni. Al liceo, ho vissuto con una famiglia di lingua francese in Belgio per 3 mesi. La famiglia aveva 3 bambini piccoli (4 anni, 5 anni, 6 anni) e ho giocato con loro e farli divertire. Ho anche cucinato la cena per loro ogni tanto. In 2017, ho fatto lo scambio in Canada per 6 mesi, dove ho studiato e migliorato il mio francese. Mi piace molto imparare le lingue e scoprire culture diverse. Quindi sono desideroso di aiutare una famiglia, conoscere la loro cultura e migliorare il mio italiano, e anche condividere un po' della mia cultura con voi, se lo desideri. Il cibo è una parte molto importante della cultura. Mi piace provare nuovi cibi e mi piace cucinare, quindi sono felice di dare una mano con la cucina e anche condividere alcune ricette diverse se vuoi provarli. Sono capace di cucinare pasta e pizza da zero, nonché un sacco di cottura (soprattutto qualsiasi cosa con il cioccolato!) e cibi di altre culture come tacos e sushi.
Mi piace prendermi cura dei bambini e aiutarli a imparare. Ho una vasta esperienza di baby-sitter e lavoro regolarmente con i bambini nel mio lavoro presso il museo della scienza locale.
Ho preso cura dei bambini da quando ero un adolescente, ma non sono mai stato un alla pari. Ho curato i più piccoli, aiutato a nutrirli, lavarli e farli dormire leggendo una favola o cantando una ninna nanna. Ho anche esperienza con i bambini più grandi, accompagnarli da scuola, in gite in città, giocare a giochi sportivi all'aperto e coinvolgerli in cucina come aiutare a decorare biscotti o fare i gnocchi.
Al museo aiuto con attività come giocare con i robot e i blocchi, fare mestieri e conoscere l'interspazio. Questo significa che ho molta esperienza e idee per attività divertenti da fare con i bambini che anche aiutali a imparare.
Mi piace lavorare con i bambini perché loro possono avere idee molto interessanti e darti una prospettiva diversa sulla vita e inoltre, ti insegnano lezioni molto importanti sulla pazienza.
Sono una persona curiosa e mi piace conoscere il mondo che mi circonda e come funzionano le cose. Di più, mi piace leggere, cucinare e praticare lo sport come nuotare, hiking e giocare a netball. Lavoro part-time nel servizio clienti in uno stadio sportivo in Australia, dove saluto gli avventori e cerco di assicurare che loro passano una buona giornata a guardare il calcio. Ogni volta che i bambini vengono con i loro genitori, mi assicuro sempre di salutarli e posso aiutare a calmare i bambini che sono turbati parlando con loro e dando loro un libro di attività.
