Au pair from Italy called Chiara, a 25 year-old girl based in Venice, just graduated in Medicine and Surgery, looking for a short term job in United Kingdom with a nice family, starting from October!

My name is Chiara. I am a 25 year-old girl coming from Italy.

I just graduated in Medicine and Surgery and I am looking for an Au Pair experience in an English speaking country before starting my Paediatric specialization course. I already have some experience in child-care thanks to Paediatric wards and babysitting my little cousins. I like reading, playing games and spending time outdoor. Obviously, as every Italian girl, I love cooking!!

I live in the historical centre of Venice with my mother Maria, my father Luigi, my brother Samuele and our cat Artù.

I attended Classical High School "Marco Polo" in Venice where I studied subjects as Latin and Ancient Greek. I was admitted to Medicine and Surgery at University of Padua (I practiced in the hospitals of Venice, Padua and Treviso). I graduated in July (with maximum vote: 110/110 cum Laude) and now I am having some vacation time before starting the specialization course and a medical volunteering period in Africa.

During university, in the weekends I have also worked for 4 years at Wilmotte Architecture Foundation in Venice, where I had the chance of practicing both French and English languages. My duties were taking care of the Art Gallery and managing the tourist arrangements.

I am an avid reader and I have always liked reading books to my brother when we were little. Nowadays I still read fictions to my little cousins and my granny's sister (who cannot see very well) during the summers.
I also enjoy watching movies.
I love practicing sport (especially tennis, swimming and volleyball) and spending time outdoor (I use to have at least a long walk everyday).
My father cooks really well (even for Italian standards) and he transmitted his passion to me. We enjoy cooking fish together.
I am used to prepare healthy home-made meals for my little cousins (I'm often asked to babysit them at Venice Lido beach in summer) and my sport-addicted medicine-graduated boyfriend. Sometimes I enjoy making pizza and cakes with my brother.

After the graduation I have been on a one-month-long holiday with my family and my boyfriend.
I think that an Au Pair experience would be a nice way to spend the remaining vacation time. I would have the chance of practicing my English in a country I have never visited. I would also be able of taking care of children while living in a different kind of family culture.

I really like spending time with children and playing games with them.
Still, I think that child-caring is not a game. It requires responsible behaviour, sensibility and practical skills.
I think that being a good medical student does not necessarily mean being a good baby-sitter. Still, it helps to respond to any emergencies and not to underestimate what a child needs.
