American Nanny/au pair and former teacher available from August 1st 2019

Dear Potential Family,

My name is Kate and I am looking for a fun, loving, kind family to adventure with. I am a 25-year-old American currently on a gap year before I begin law school in September 2020. I have a Bachelors degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Claremont McKenna College and speak semi-fluent Arabic. I spent the previous three years teaching at a private British school in Cairo, Egypt; my second home. I taught a class called Global Perspectives to grades 3-11, encouraging my students to discuss and think critically about global issues. I plan to study international humanitarian law in the future.

My first trip abroad was to India when I was 8 years old. Since then, I have traveled to more than 20 countries. I am happiest when immersed in a different culture, learning a new language, eating different foods, and trying new things.

I have been babysitting, tutoring, and coaching since I was 13 years old, and have more than 5 years experience teaching in schools and daycares. I love working with children, and especially appreciate the fresh perspective and outlook that children have on life. I have learned more about life from the children and students I have worked with than I could learn in any formal learning setting.

I love watching and playing all kinds of sports. I am particularly fond of volleyball, swimming, and American football. I also love arts and crafts and drawing portraits. I love all beach activities, and spent most of my weekends in Egypt on the Red Sea trying to learn kitesurfing, scuba diving, and playing beach volleyball.

I am a kind, fun-loving, and charismatic person; there is nothing I love more than traveling to a new country and making life-long memories and friends. I have a year free before I begin my three-year law school study, and I would like to make the most of it.

I am a clear communicator, and I am extremely personable. I am friendly and responsible, and can provide your children with attentive care, thoughtful conversation, and any academic assistance you may desire.

Please feel free to send me any questions, or inquire for further details. I am an open book. I look forward to hearing from you!
