Dear future Host Family,
I am 23 years old. I am living in Ambon city, Indonesia. I wish to care for children aged 1–13 years old. I will happily spend time with my future host family throughout the day such as eating, jogging, shopping, do sports. I hope to be able to play with children, teach them something simple through playing, help them to do homework, tell something fun before bed time.
Do some activities together with family at the weekend will be a pleasant thing for me, as long as we discuss about it. However, I hope I will have free time on weekends to meet with my friends and / or do other activities outside home, at least once a month. I hope to stay with the host family for about a year. Living in a small town is a good thing for me. I want to learn more about family culture and local culture. Besides that, staying with a single parent or not is not matter to me. I am used to handling multiple children and several tasks at once at a time.
I have basic cooking skills, such as making a simple breakfast, boiling eggs or meat and cooking vegetables. I cook almost everyday to myself. But, I would love to be given the opportunity to learn how to cook European food with host Mom/Dad. Furthermore, I can do house works such as cleaning rooms, washing clothes, ironing and so on. I have a driver license for motorbike in Indonesia, but not an international driver license. I am not an active motorbike user, only at certain times when I want to go to a near another city.
My hobby is singing and playing guitar. I also like to do craft such as sewing dolls or pillows and making accessories. I am a very open person and a happy one to receive suggestions and criticism from others. I do everything independently and always schedule my daily activities or works that I have to complete. But, it does not rule out the possibility, I am a flexible person with all reasonable changes. Furthermore, I really like something new. I like new experiences, new places, new atmosphere, and everything that I have not tried before. After being an Au Pair I wish to back to my hometown and prepare myself for postgraduate program.
I just finished my bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education Program in July 2018. At present, I am studying Psychological Science for my master degree. I plan to complete my study at the end of 2019 and thereafter participate to be an AuPair in the beginning of 2020.
I have done many internships during my study, such as:
- at Daycare for 3 months (2016)
- at Playgroup for 2 months (2017)
- at Kindergarten for 3 months (2017)
- at Homeschooling (for Kindergarten & Elementary School) for 1 month (2017)
All of my internship experiences were spent with early childhood (1-7 years old) such as caring, teaching, and playing together.
I also have worked as a Homeschooling tutor for kindergarten and elementary school for 6 months (2017) where most of the students are children with special needs such as down syndrome, autism, ADHD, mental retarded and global developmental delay. I also helped to accompany children in undergoing therapies. On January 2019, I just finished my Global Volunteer program with AIESEC for about 6 weeks in primary schools and kindergarten which has been held in Szczecin, Poland.
I have a great curiosity about the world, especially about the world of children. I want to get new insights and experiences in caring for children and how to interact with parents in other countries. I also want to share my culture and show how beautiful the world it is with all its diversity. I want to help families care for children so they can grow and develop optimally according to the stages of their development. If I get an opportunity to accompany a host family who has children with special needs, then it would be a great opportunity for me to share many things with them. I will be very happy to share and help them care for their children to grow up optimally.
