Au pair from Poland, Marta, 19 years old, availabe asap

Dear my future Host Family!

My name is Marta, and I am 19 years old.

I live in small, but beautiful village in South Poland-Zwonowice. I live with my mum Anna and my sister Julia. My mum is a warm and kind person. Julia is one year younger than me. Her hobbies are similar to mine. She loves animals (especially horses and dogs). We have a strong relationship, and we are really close. We have a dog too. Her name is Misia, and she is really sweet mongrel. With my sister we rescued her, when someone kicked her out of a car and left on a street. My parents are divorced but I meet my dad Dariusz almost every day.

My parents and my boyfriend support my decisions, and think that becoming and au pair is a great opportunity for me. I am incredibly grateful for having them in my life.

Four years ago I went to Arts High School and I've just graduated.

I have been around children a lot - just by the simple fact I am the oldest in my generation, and there is a lot of cousins who had to be taken care of. Since I was eight years old girl I have spent a lot of time with them. Today I still enjoy it as much as then. Children in my family are aged between 4-14 now. I like play with them, making crafts, painting and taking photos them. Every year some of them visit me in a summer and their parents come back home, so I take care of them all the time. We always have a lot of fun together and I really appreciate that time.

I gained a lot of experience when I was working in indoor playground for children. It is a place where parents can leave their children for a few hours or organised children's birthday there. I was doing there a lot of things, for example: playing with children, inventing games, helping with eating and drinking or preparing meals for them. I used to paint their faces and I truly enjoy it. I think birthday were the most difficult part of my job. Sometimes I had to handle alone for example group of 15 children (usually aged between 4-14). With every group I was spending 2 or 3 hours and I was responsible for them all the time. I always liked that part of work because it was very amusing for me. They often told me that it was the best birthday party they ever had, it was literally moving.
I worked there a year (February 2017-February 2018). I spent there almost every weekend (Saturdays 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.) and a few hours in week (about 6). I find it very important for my personality. I learned a lots and improve my social skills.

Also, I often take picutres on some children's events and paint faces. For me it's an oportunity to spend some time with children and practice my photography skills.

Last year I volunteered at children's summer camp. It was located near lake and pool, so I spent a lot of time playing in water with kids.

I've got also experience in tutoring (especially Math and Art History).

I'm very active person, so there is a lot of things I like to do, for example:

PAINTING- I spend a lot of time painting in my school and I really enjoy it. My favourite genre is still life. Also I love learning about Art History, which is my favorite subject in school.

PHOTOGRAPHY- Photography has always been one of my favorite hobbies. That's the reason I chose my school. I learned there a lot of. Portraits and fashion photography are my favorites, but I have experience in family and children photography too. Photography helps me capture anything I feel is important to remember, so wherever I go, I take my camera with me.

HORSE RIDING- Horses are my favorite animals. I've loved them since I was a little girl. Horses has taught my patient and responsibility better than anyone. I often take care of three horses, when my coach is on holiday. I train a horse riding almost ten years and it is a big part of my life. I've tried variety of horseback riding disciplines. Now I'm working with very young horses, I prepare them for staring in competitions. It's satisfying for me, I love to see how they grow up and change.

ARTS&CRAFTS- I used to attend a craft class for three years. Now I am doing a few varieties of handicrafts at home. I like decoupage, painting on bags and clothes, jewellery making, felt crafts, knitting or making collages. I hope to try scrapbooking soon

FIRST AID- I spent 2 years learning about First Aid, because I was preparing to a competition organised by Polish Red Cross. It cost me a lot of time and work but finally I won it two times. Meanwhile I took part in some other competitions, where I had to show doing CPR, dressing a wound, sending for an ambulance or putting in recovery position. Of course I learned about children's First Aid too.

ANIMALS- I have a lot of experience in taking care of horses. Every year in summer I take care of three or four horses for a few weeks. Those times I am taking full responsiblity for them. I have to feed, water and excercise them and muck out a stalls. I enjoy that time very much, because for me it is like I have my own hores, which is my dream. I love all the animals, so I always try to help them as much as I can, same my sister. Now we are taking care of little hedgehog. I found him, when he was a few days old. He was starving, dehydrated and very weak. I took him home and helped him. Earlier we rescued three other newborn hedgehogs and one a little older than them. One year ago we found four baby swallows out of the nest and a few hours old sparrow.

SWIMMING- I swim since I was seven years old and I think I am a strong swimmer. I usually spend whole summer in a swimming pool with my cousins. I've also trained swimming for three years.

SAILNING- My dads love to sail, so he taught me a lot of. I were sailing an Optimist, it is small, single-handed sailing dinghy. I have trainings every weekend and I took part on regatta for three years. Sailing made me more patient and independent. I were alone and I had to handle every problem on my own.
