My name is Sasha, I am 18 years old and from Australia. Looking for a job in Greece starting June 2019.

Hello! My name is Sasha, I am 18 years old and from Queensland, Australia.

I am interested in everything. I love to be active and outside. I like to play all sports but I especially like rock climbing because I can express creativity through the movements and the way I solve problems on the wall. I also trained as a gymnast and dancer for many years which also allowed me to be creative through movement. Apart from these, I played soccer and basketball in high school and I love swimming and standup paddleboarding in the ocean.
Aside from sports, I like to sketch, paint and design houses. I love to read, my favourite book is The Alchemist. I spend lots of time listening to music, my favourite genre is rock and roll. I'm also interested in film; I love watching good movies and especially like to pay attention to the colour schemes.

When I was younger I lived in China for 10 years because my mum was a principal and my dad a teacher at an international school there. So I am fluent in Chinese and I know a lot about the culture. I also have travelled to many countries and learned about other cultures too.

Because my parents are teachers and I have a little sister, I have been around kids my whole life. I love spending time with them and learning from their interesting perspectives. I graduated high school in 2017 and because I wanted to learn more about the world before I started university, I moved to Beijing and worked as an aupair for 11 months. I looked after two Chinese kids who went to an international school; Peter, 9, an incredibly smart and funny 5th grader who excels in sports and loves to read, and Alina, 12, a beautiful girl with the most nurturing soul I have ever come across. I expected to learn more about the world by exploring China, but I actually learned more from spending time with the kids. Because their parents worked such long hours, I became their primary guardian. We spent so much time together that we really are family now. Our favourite things to do together were climbing trees, inventing things and creating Rube Goldberg machines.

This year I started at the University of Queensland, majoring in archaeology and anthropology. I find these areas fascinating but I am interested in taking next semester off to travel. Beijing is a very industrial city so I would love to live in the Mediterranean for up to 6 months. Greece is my favourite place I have been so I would especially like to spend some more time there.

In the future I plan to become an anthropologist, studying different cultures to learn about their ways of life, then applying that knowledge to my own life.

Last year I learned so much about people and the world, I would like to learn more beyond the scope of China by immersing myself into a completely different place. A lot of people seem to forget that children are going to become adults and events in their young lives can have profound impacts on them into the future. So I take being an aupair seriously. Thank you for reading and I really hope I can join your family for a few months!
