Au Pair from England, now living and working in Australia for a year :)

Hi, welcome to my profile.

I am currently 18 years old and have a passion for travelling, exploring new things and meeting new people. I love spending time with kids and pride myself on how quickly I can make such strong connections with them in such a short amount of time, whether that be through bonding over dance, watching disney movies together, playing sports together or just generally enjoying each other's company in any situation.

I feel like I would make a great addition to any family and after 4 months of travelling South-East Asia, I am currently au pairing for a family in Perth! I plan to complete my farm work starting from the end of August/beginning of September through to the end of November/start of December so unfortunately will only be able to au pair from then until mid-late February when my working holiday visa runs out.

I am a very independent person and can cope very well with change as a result of moving around Germany for the past 12 years of my life, despite being born in the United Kingdom. I am part of a family of 8 if you count my pets as well - I have two sisters; one older (currently 20) and one younger (currently 12), as well as one golden retriever and two cats. As previously mentioned, I have a passion for travelling and immersing myself in new cultures, and I have been lucky enough to have travelled a lot in my life which has led to my appreciation for new and different experiences that different places and new people that I meet have to offer.

Other passions of mine include: dancing - I have been dancing since I learned how to walk but unfortunately due to demands with school I have put it on hold over the last two years; cooking - I loooove food; sports, including surfing, skiing and snowboarding, and generally keeping fit (so having a gym nearby would be a bonus for me!); and animals, I absolutely love all animals.

I am currently gaining experience as an au pair and will be staying with this family for 6 months. Additionally, I have a lot of experience of babysitting for kids of many different ages and I attended a first aid course quite recently. I also have a tendency to take on the 'mother role': if my family and I meet up with any family friends who have children - I am always playing with them and looking after them, so much so that the parents can comfortably enjoy themselves without having to worry too much about their children.

I love kids, and I love travelling - what better than to put the two of them together through working as an au pair! In addition to this, I think it would be an incredible experience for me and I am excited to see myself grow as an individual and gain a new level of independence. I have such fond memories of spending every day after school with my childminder from a very young age, and it would be amazing to have a similar impact on someone else's life. I truly feel like I could be a great au pair and will fit right into any family who are fun, welcoming and are willing to accept me for who I am.
