Caring and kind au pair from Russia called Alexandra, 25, looking for a friendly and nice family starting from April-May

Dear host family, thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Alexandra, but you can call me Sasha. I'm 25 years old and I'm from the most spacious multi-million-strong city, Ufa, in Russia. I've been working with children since university. Firstly, I was a tutor: I taught English to kids of different ages and of different personalities. I was able to be friends with all my pupils and we still keep in touch with them and their parents, and even grandparents. My first pupil was a beautiful little girl named Alena. She was 6 when we started to have lessons in English. I always went to her house with excitement, because every day she learnt something new, but she taught me something new in life instead! We played a lot, sang English songs, watched cartoons and played board games. I always tried to make up a new game every lesson, something that she used to be happy about. Then, I found a new pupil, Gleb. He was very different from Alena, he was a charming, but mischievous boy with a smile on his face. I had completely different activities with him. I was quite strict and we did English homework with him. Still, if he behaved well, we played English games and watched short videos with him at the end of the lesson. I had been their tutor for two years. Then, it was time to move on, and I graduated from university and found a job at an English school. I've been working at my current job for 3, 5 years. Here, my pupils are both adults and children. I teach children in groups and individually, and I realized that after these years, I still go to work with pleasure and joy. Working with children, I have learnt a lot about children's psychology and their way of thinking and they still surprise me. I have also been babysitting my friend's daughter since she was 1,5 years old. As my friend was studying at university and her husband was away, she needed a person who could look after her girl, Milana. I was happy to help her out, as Milana is kind and curious and I really enjoyed spending time with her. I played with her, walked with her, fed her and put to sleep. I still visit her, and she runs to me with a happy smile on her face. I come from a family of 4: My parents are extremely kind and loving, but at the same time they are quite strict. My dad is a security guard and my mum is a shop assistant. My younger sister is 22 and she is a serious girl with huge plans for life: she is studying to be an engineer. I have helped my parents to look after my sister since her birth. I was responsible for taking her to kindergarten, music school and art school. As a teenager, I was involved in looking after her on daily basis which included educating, doing homework with her and of course, entertaining. When it comes to free time, I enjoy playing the piano or guitar and humming a tune or a song. I love being outdoors, find something interesting even in simple things in life, such as walking, talking and good weather. I like reading books in English, Russian or German. Books can be so interesting that I can't even notice that a day has passed, and I should go to sleep. My favorite book of all times is “Gone with the wind”, I have reread it about 10 times. In winter I absolutely enjoy skiing, ice-skating and playing snowballs. On rainy and cloudy days, I prefer watching comedies or sitcoms to cheer myself up (my most favorite ones are Friends, Scrubs and How I met your mother). I would absolutely love to be an Au Pair because I've been working with children for a long time and looking after my sister has given me more knowledge and practice. I am prepared, and I understand that being like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality should help me to master more difficult situations, for instance, when the kids are tired or don't want to listen to me. Thank you for reading my letter and kind regards, Sasha.
