Hello dear future Family!
Today I open my heart in this letter and tell you a little about myself and my story....
I am Rossi Mora, I am 24 years old, I was born in Colombia and a few months ago I graduated as a nurse at the Francisco de Paula Santander University. I live in a small, cozy, beautiful and warm city in Colombia called Cúcuta.
In my family we are 6 people and two pets, my mom aurora, my younger brothers miguel and camilo, my sister in law Shirley, my beautiful 4 years old nephew thiago, my kitty titi and my little dog doll (I love pets), we are few but together we are a great team!
Who am I? In my life difficult situations have happened, thanks to them I have learned to fight in this changing world, to not let myself be defeated by obstacles that arise, to dream despite the difficulties, to be generous, to organize my life and my goals, I know what direction I want to take in my life and what I want to achieve, I am a simple girl with a kind heart, warm and with a lot of love to give
I graduated from high school in 2013 and in the midst of the global pandemic of 2020 I managed to get my degree and fulfill my dream of being a professional nurse. By 2021 I took courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation in neonates, children and adults, first aid care, AIEPI strategy focused on reducing morbidity and mortality in children under 5 years, short courses on child care and I have a driver's license.
On the other hand I have experience with children since I was very young, my mother worked all the time and I took the place of nanny, friend and teacher for my siblings, I played with them all the time, made sure they were sleeping in their beds, changed diapers, bathed them, taught them new words, together we learned to ride skates and bikes and the most fun we explored unforgettable places with my younger cousins, in fact I am the oldest of them all and even at their ages I still take care of them unconditionally.
Before graduating from school in 2013, I volunteered in a small school with children between the ages of 5 to 10 years old. I did dynamic activities and prepared orientation classes in subjects such as math, Spanish and English.
I was fortunate to enter to study nursing in 2015, and from there I lived and experienced the different stages of the human being from caring and educating women in their pregnancy and breastfeeding stage, witnessing and bringing a beautiful baby into the world in my arms, listening to their first cries, watching and helping them take their first steps, teaching children between 1 to 5 years old parts of their body, shapes, textures, numbers, letters in the program "growth and development".
I brought moments of joy to children in their disease processes in clinics and hospitals through children's activities in 2016, in this same year I participated in the program "healthy school" in two schools in the city where I played, jump, participate in their imaginary stories, I taught them the importance of oral, physical, mental and emotional health, with children between the ages of 5 years to 16 years, in short it has been the best 5 years of my life because through the children I feel that I grew as a person and professional.
In 2017 my nephew was born and it has been the best thing that has happened to me, I have been present at every stage of his growth, from his birth until today. With him I became a little girl again. We have played in the park, made Mickey drawings (he loves Mickey mouse) I have prepared some food for him, I have dressed him, we talk for a long time together even though sometimes he does not understand, I teach him new words in English, the correct pronunciation of some words in Spanish, for him I am the aunt osi, and yes, I am the happiest aunt in the world.
Currently I work as a community nurse in an international humanitarian organization helping, supporting and teaching about covid-19 to migrant children, women and men from Venezuela.
Besides the experience in childcare I also love to watch movies, watch anime, listen to music, dance, sing karaoke, travel and learn about other cultures and ways of life, meet new people, talk and share experiences, go out with friends or prepare meals with my family, I like to eat healthy, cook and try new flavors but I also love to make carrot or chocolate cakes, brownies, cookies and add my secret ingredient but shhh I still can't tell you it's a secret. I find it very entertaining to teach children how to prepare desserts.
Throughout my life I have always loved children and this experience as an au pair would allow me to grow as a professional, as a person, build unique moments, be that big sister, unconditional friend, counselor and teacher of your little ones, all this excites me and would be a great opportunity to fulfill my dreams and goals such as perfecting my English, learn new languages, meet new cultures, new people, have unique and unforgettable moments and share with you and your family a little of my Colombian culture and learn from yours with excitement.
I speak Spanish as my mother tongue, English as a second language. I have studied for about 10 years in an empirical way and then I took two courses reaching A2 level in English, I studied for three months basic German A1 and finally I have been learning Japanese.
I hope to have a great experience with my future host family and feel part of them since together we will create thousands of unique moments and for sure they will be forever kept in my mind and heart, because I really appreciate the time we are going to spend.
