Au pair from Canada looking for a family in Australia, from July 2019!

Hi there! My name is Kelly; I'm 21 years old and from Canada. I am currently a student, studying linguistics and French with the goal of becoming a speech pathologist.

I am passionate about languages, travelling, and working with children. This past year, I have been living in Nice, France on an academic exchange and have enjoyed the opportunity to experience another culture. English is my first language, but I also speak French. I am friendly, creative, and hard-working.

I know it's quite far in advance, but I am planning on arriving in Australia anytime from June 2019 and staying for a year with a Working Holiday Visa. I am family-oriented and am hoping to find a family who will make me feel at home, rather than an employee in their home; so I'm starting my search in advance to try find the right family for me!

I have much experience working with children in a variety of age groups and settings. I have held positions as a camp counsellor, KinderCamp director, tutor, and nanny.

In my spare time, I love to be outdoors – I enjoy camping, swimming, and bike riding in the summer, and snowboarding in the winter. I am looking forward to time in Australia to enjoy the good weather, wildlife, and outdoors; but I can also enjoy some time inside with a good book or movie, baking, or doing crafts!

While I am mature and organised, I think I will always be a little kid at heart - I love all things Disney and will gladly sing along to any Disney song (but unfortunately singing is not one of my strengths)!

After the experience of a year studying abroad in France, I am excited to see the world, meet new people, and experience other cultures. I am easy-going and sociable and want to take advantage of the opportunity to learn and discover a new part of the world.

I have a driver's licence and am certified in standard first aid with CPR/AED Level C.
