Dear Family,
I'm Amina Mastura. For short, you may address me as Amy. I'm a 25year old (1992) Singaporean. I am seeking a warm and loving family I could be of a useful Au Pair to.
I was a former Student Care Teacher (similar to Child Care) for three years (2012 - 2015) and worked closely with kids aged 6-12. As a Student Care Teacher, I had to ensure the well-being of every student by tutoring them, engaging them in different kinds of activities and most importantly, ensuring that they had a ‘friend' in me that they could turn to.
I am free-spirited, easy-going and overall a really gentle person. I am always curious about the many things life has to offer. I'm rather domesticated as I've always helped around with the house chores. I come from a family of 5. My parents are retired. I am the middle child. Rumor has it the middle child's the most independent & I'd love to agree ;)
I discovered my immense love for travelling a few years ago. I am a backpacker. Some of the countries I've been to includes Greece, Thailand, United States and Australia. Despite my love for nature and its scenic views, the beauty in travelling is always discovered in the different kinds of people we meet along the way & the stories they carry with them. I do not dwell on stigmas that people have created about a certain place/its people. I travel with a clean mind and heart, absorb entirely what the destination has to offer and make the best of every moment.
Being around kids brings such joy. Their honesty, innocence and silly antics are always very entertaining. I have 3 nieces & 1 nephew (aged 3,2 and 1) whom I adore so much. Here in SIngapore, everything is really fast-paced & I spend most of my time working (tutoring + baking). During the minimal free time I have, my favorite past-time includes quality with family/friends, reading self-help books or catching up on good movies.
In Singapore, the Au Pair concept is almost unheard of. I did however first discover this a few years back probably through an international television show yet I have I never paid much attention to being an Au Pair only till recently. It's my third year being self-employed and I decided it is the best time for me to give this new experience a chance. I have decided to take a gap year out of life (including my business), to be out there and give this experience a go.
If I am the Au Pair of your choice, with your guidance, I will be willing to learn new things to ease your daily tasks, to help you run errands or help manage your littles ones. I am very new to this whole concept & its processes so I hope you'll be kind with me and guide me through what's necessary.
As excited as I am about being able to learn new things in this journey, seeing and living in new places, I am also very excited to meet a family who'd receive me warmly with the little that I have to offer. Hope to hear from you!
