My name is Evelyne, am 25 years old a Kenyan girl. I am a graduate from Moi University with a bachelor degree in Tourism Management, I'm looking to explore more of the world and learn about different cultures and there's no better way that how better than to work and live with the locals.
I come from a family of 6: My parents, 2 sisters and one brother, am the 3rd born. In about two years I plan to pursue a master's degree but at the moment, I would like to take some time out of school to have
When it comes to child care experience, I have had to look after children in both formal and informal contexts. I have been working with a local non-profit in a Nairobi slum (Kibera Sport Development Program) as a volunteer for 6 years now and have interacted with hundreds of children aged between 5 to 15 years; coordinating their sports activities for children as well as life-skills enrichment programs. I also attended the World Youth Summit event in Stockholm, 2014 organized by United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) where I learnt a lot about child protection and effects of child abuse.
In 2016 I helped my elder sister to look after her 3 children age 1 year old and 3 years old twins. I lived with and took care of them for 2 years since my sister had to nurse her sick husband who was living in a neighboring country (Uganda). I drew so much pleasure living with the young children as they were so much fun to be around.
When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, doing fashion, visiting new places and of course, running.
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 6 months. I would prefer to have working hours that would allow me to attend day time language classes and to explore the country as well.
