Nestan, 24 years old, from Georgia, looking for an Au Pair opportunity for 12 months, with a nice family in Germany (preferably Berlin or close), starting in September or October of 2018! Thanks in advance for your attention!

Currently, I'm a freelance graphic designer, working on several projects in Georgia and abroad. I went to university with a full scholarship, but did not end up graduating because the path I chose at first (Sociology) didn't turn out to be my true passion in life and when I decided to change my major to design, I sadly realized that the programmes available in my country do not provide the best education in this field, but I'm very hopeful that sooner or later, I will be able to go back to university in a different country to study what I truly love, which is graphic design and art direction. But that is not happening for quite some time yet :)

One of my other big passions in life is learning (or trying to learn) languages. The language I can brag about the most is English and I learned it as well as I did not for any purpose other than my true appreciation and love for it. The language I feel these things for now definitely happens to be German, which is my next big project! :) When I was still in high school (ages 17-18), I spent a year as an exchange student in the United States, so I know what it's like to leave home and spend a long time somewhere else in order to change your surroundings, challenge yourself and learn something new (which is how I see my potential experience as an Au Pair) and more importantly, I'm very good at it (which, I'm sure, my mother doesn't appreciate because she would prefer to keep me close to home, but what can we do :D).

I speak fluent Georgian (my native language), English and Russian. In my free time, I love to read, write, cook, swim, travel as much as I can; I love music, movies, documentaries, comic books and science fiction/fantasy; I love translating fiction; I love meeting new people (as predictable as that might sound, I actually find joy in getting to know people from all walks of life and most of my friends don't share a nationality with me or each other); I love art, galleries and museums, attending workshops and exhibitions and learning about art history; I love to sing (dedicated 10 years of my life to classical training at a music academy); and, last but not least, I love graphic design (and, in case there's anyone in your family who would like to learn a thing or two about Photoshop and Illustrator, I can happily help out with that as well!).

I have to admit, my experience in caring for children outside my own family is very limited, but I have two sisters, a brother and a cousin (all between the ages of 5 and 15) who were born and grew up right in front of my eyes. My youngest sibling - my little brother - was born when I was 19 years old, which means that I have the experience of interacting with and caring for a small child in my latest adult life as well as my younger years.

The first child to come into my life was my cousin, then came my sisters and brother. Our time together has given me many experiences, from bathing, feeding and swaddling newborns to enduring countless arguments about which young actor is the handsomest, whose favorite K-Pop band is the best and how many scoops of ice cream can be ordered at our favorite dessert place. I am sad to say that due to changes in all of our living arrangements, I'm no longer able to spend as much time with them as I used to, but we always make it a point to hang out and spend quality time together whenever possible.

In my capacity as an interpreter, I have had extensive experience in traveling to different regions of my country and working with children living in Internally Displaced Persons camps, as well as visiting schools and kindergartens and interacting with children from different social and ethnic backgrounds about a plethora of topics like music, literature, education, games and even the European Union (more on that in person :D ).

I have been an English language tutor, having worked with over 20 children (aged 5-15) over the past 6 or so years. My main responsibility was to help them out with understanding and completing their schoolwork, but I have always made it a point to engage in extra-curricular activities as well, such as reading literature, additional exercises to learn and appreciate English grammar in a fun way, playing games, watching cartoons and movies, reading comic books (fun fact: I'm a huge fan of comic books myself) and so on. I would be able and more than happy to engage in these activities with your children and teach them English (as well as Georgian and Russian, both of which I also speak fluently).

In my opinion, one of the most important things in life is to share your culture and learn from other people about theirs. In most cases, this is the foundation of the most memorable interactions and lasting, significant relationships. In terms of cultural exchange, one of the most important groups of people to share with are children (who we all know to be sponges, soaking in as much information and knowledge as humanly possible), as this is the basis of their development into accepting, friendly, interesting, worldly adults who appreciate everything and everyone in their immediate and not-so-immediate surroundings.

I love spending time with children, paying attention to their little quirks and traits, witnessing changes in their personalities and being able to say that I might have contributed to their lives in a meaningful way.

My ideal situation would be to help you out as much as I can in caring for your children, as well as being able to explore your beautiful country and learn the language.

(By the way, English is NOT my mother language, but, for some reason, the site didn't have Georgian in their list of main languages, so I chose the next language that I speak fluently :) My German is very basic, but I am currently learning and also planning to go to language school once I arrive :) )

Thanks for your attention and talk to you soon!
