My name is Kate and I am a reliable 25 year old Au pair and experienced traveller who hopes to join you during the November/ autumn school term and Christmas holiday period. This time of year can be busy and bustling, so an extra pair of hands could be exactly what you need for a merry holidays and happy New Year!

I'm moving to the UK from Australia on a 2 year working visa. I have experience as a nanny here in Australia caring for children between the ages of 4-12 years. English is my

I currently work as a hotel services clerk in a small hospital that specializes in corrective and cosmetic surgical procedures in addition to palliative care. I really enjoy my work as it makes me feel like I am doing some small good in the world. I previously worked in advertising for a couple of years as an Account Coordinator. I graduated university in 2015 with a BA in Mass Communications, Film and Marketing. That same year I completed a solo tour of Western and Central Europe, some of the Mediterranean and the Balkans, as well as Morocco and Turkey. I have also seen parts of South East Asia and visited friends in India.

I have successfully applied for a two year youth mobility visa to live and work in the UK where I hope to experience a different lifestyle, form a more creative career and start a new chapter of my life. I am limited by birth and visa to stay for just two years. I'm hoping that's enough time to make some lifelong friends – It seems to me that working as an Au pair with lovely people (like yourself) would be a better way of meeting great locals, rather than living out of a backpackers. I would be looking to stay for a couple of months as I have some work lined up with a BAFTA award winning screenwriter in January 2019. But I am open to discussing the length of my stay; in no way do I want to make myself a burden.

In fact if it's a pair of helpful hands attached to an enthusiastic helper – look no further!
I have a lot of babysitting experience for family and friends. I would be happy to work for a single parent as my own parents divorced at an early age. I have been used to pitching in and babysitting my younger brother. I have two brothers one younger and one much older. I currently live with my father and brother here in Perth while my mother and older brother now live in Sydney.

I have experience with both boys and girls, I am just as capable of flick kicking a football as I am making a ballet bun. As a nanny I tried to accentuate the children's natural curiosity - whatever they are interested in I would try to learn, explore and create activities around. I've cared for children as young as 3 and as old as 12. While studying at university I was a nanny to two children, getting them ready for/ taking them to and from school. Preparing light meals and afternoon tea. Helping with homework and taking them to/ hosting play-dates. I even looked after them during school holidays and in the evenings. I'm sure I could assist your family in a similar way. I've never worked through a professional service or been formally trained, but while I was a nanny other parents often attempted to poach me for their own children, so I guess I must be doing something right.

In accordance with rules around my visa I must enter the UK before the end of November. I'm hoping to arrive in the UK to a welcoming place with good people to share the holiday season with. I know that working as an au pair will improve my childcare skills beyond what I learnt as a nanny. I think that becoming part of a family as an au pair will help me view the world with some childlike enthusiasm upon my arrival and help me get over those trying first couple of months where doubt can set in. However I'm a seasoned independent traveller who is dedicated to moving to a new country so I'm not likely to get overly homesick and leave two weeks in. I know that this opportunity to live with a family is a great way to experience a new culture from a realistic point of view. And would give me a touchstone upon entering a new stage of my life. As I will be living in the UK for two years, it is possible that this could be an ongoing relationship where I could help out during the holiday periods when there isn't any school.

I am a non-smoker, with no allergies, or licence. As an Australian citizen I am generally able to travel anywhere within Europe for up to 90 days. I would be happy to do some light house-work in addition to childcare.
