Aupair from Vietnam called Daisy, 23, looking for a host family, starting from June

My name is Duong Ha Thanh. I was born in 1994 in Quang Binh province, Vietnam. I am a Bachelor of Business English. After graduating from University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, I have been teaching teenagers full time at a consulting and studying abroad company (Sao Viet company). Also, I am part timing as a teacher of English for children and teaching assistant at a local language center in Hanoi (Olympia center)

Up to now, I have worked with children and teenagers for 6 years since I was in first year at university.

*Note: I will get driving license by the middle of June, 2018.

I will summerize my childcare experiences below:

Infant -Toddler:
1. Recently: Doing volunteer work and internship at kindergarten and working with kids (1-3 years old).
2. 2015-now: Taking care of my nephew (1->3 years old).
3. 2016-now: Helping take care of a kid of my land lady (1->3 years old).
I have done a lot things like changing diapers, preparing meals, feeding, getting dressed, etc. If they are older, I teach them some simple lessons such as coloring, drawing, singing and identifying objects, etc.

Older kids:
1. Now-Teaching for kids (4-9 years old) at language center.
I organize many activities like games, mini presentations and contests (Eg, Letter to Santa Claus)
2. Now-Tutoring for children (7-9 years old) at their home.
I tutor English and help them with their homework at school like Maths, Literature, etc. We also do some reading and after that students will role play and make up stories based on related topics.
3. 2016-2017-Doing volunteer work for Green Fingers Club with kids (3-5 years).
I guide them how to keep clean through environmental lessons and how to make handmade gifts from recycled items. Sometimes, I feed them and tell them stories.

Teenagers:
1. 2012-now-Tutoring for students at home and at center (13-16 years old)
2. 2016-now-Teaching for students wanting to study abroad (17-21 years old)
I teach them English and help them with their homework. If I cannot talk with them at class due to the time, I often chat with them on Facebook to share about difficulties in living in another city and studying English.

In terms of leisure, I enjoy being outdoors and travelling with my best friends to discover new places and refresh myself before keeping going on my job. Reading good books is also my favorite and I often equip myself with a book whenever I go out. Furthermore, spending weekend swimming is really fascinating and I consider it a way to stay healthy; and with a good health, I can look after my beloved ones. As a teacher of English, my major interest is about education. In my free time, I often read news about education and social issues. Becoming an au pair will help me expose to a new living environment and have better understanding about lifestyle, culture as well as the educational system in a developed country like America.

I plan to pursue a Master's degree in the next two years; however, at the moment, I would like to take a year out of academics to experience a different culture and lifestyle in another country. Therefore, I wish to go to America to not only learn more about American culture but also experience a daily life with local people. In addition, I would like to improve my English, so that returning to Vietnam, I can teach English better. I strongly believe that spending a year abroad will bring me an amazing experience.
