Enthusiastic and caring au pair from Ecuador, 24, looking for a full-time position available starting April 20.

My name is Belén Carrión, I am 24 years old and I am Ecuadorian. I currently live with my parents and my two siblings in the city of Quito.

I consider myself as a very proactive person who always finds love and passion for what she does while trying to do her best. A brave, fighter, optimistic woman and according to my family the person who transmits them happiness and security. I am a girl who believes that personal values and principles are far more important than cultural or religious differences.

My family is composed of my 48-year old mom, Soraya, with whom I have an excellent relationship. She has always been my major support and engine in life, being the person who I most admire in this world. My 48-year old dad, Orlando, is a police officer and is always traveling for work reasons. Finally, my two adored siblings: Carla, 17, who is my companion for life and Carlos, 7, the youngest in the family, with whom I have spent most of the time since my parents would not be home due to their job obligations and I, as the oldest sister, would always support them by looking after my siblings.

Having to be the person in charge of spending the afternoons with my brother and sister, helping them with their homework, taking them to class and recreational activities, and preparing their meals, has been a real challenge and a gratifying opportunity for me. Not only that it has taught me to be a good older sister, but it has made me feel the purest love and fraternal care for who have always been my sources of inspiration and happiness. I consider this experience to be the most meaningful and which has taught me the most about childcare.

As a family, we love to spend the weekends doing all sort of activities together such as swimming, sightseeing, hiking, or traveling to our grandparents' home in Latacunga – a small town 65 miles away from Quito. Yet, it really means a lot to know that as long as we are together, we will always have fun regardless of what we do.

I find important that the above-mentioned experience has not made me lose track of my studies. I have, in fact, earned my bachelor's degree in organizational psychology and I am currently enrolled in an online master's degree in human resources.

My first contact with children was in high school when I was offered the opportunity to choose several activities to perform every Saturday for six months. I chose nursery where I would take care of low income and scarce resources families' children. While their parents would learn to write and read, I would look after their kids because they had no place to go.

Likewise, I took distinct courses related with children throughout my post-secondary education; for instance, Evolving Psychology I and II where I had the chance to be part of clubs with kids and learn about their physical and cognitive development, among other things.

Moreover, I find important mentioning that I have had several experiences baby-sitting where my responsibilities have included preparing meals as well as the baby bottle, finding activities that would develop the kids' creative abilities, providing support in their homework assignments, and picking them up from the nursery or elementary school.

For the aforementioned reasons, I believe that being an au pair is not only an opportunity for me to improve my English and learn about the American culture, but it is a way in which I could positively provide your child care and development. I will feel very grateful for the trust you would have deposited in me when choosing me as the au pair who will look after the most important human-beings in your life.
