Au pair 26 years old, looking for a job with a nice family starting January 2020

Hi! My name is Cleo, 26 years old, I'm currently an au pair in Belgium until February 2020 so I am looking for a host family for the year 2020-2021.

I am from Makati, Central district of the Philippines. I'm a Multimedia Arts undergrad and I'm on a bit of a break from working in the corporate world of 9 to 5 jobs . My previous position at work is Sports Data Trading and a freelance English tutor for Koreans. I've also had previous childcare experience back when I was in college.

I'm an active, and adventurous young woman. In my spare time I like being able to move around, I play football quite a lot and I've had experience coaching youngsters. I can teach and share my passion with your kids, I enjoy it a lot and I've done it for free on different volunteer events.

I am into the creative field, having a father who is a visual artist, I would say that I am naturally inclined with art. I have been trained in a music performance school for over six years, since I was eight years old. I love reading and I try to write if I have the time.

I am a fluent English speaker, it's my second language and nearly a native language to me. I have tutored Koreans who almost perfected their English proficiency exams, so I can confidently say that I can help your kids with English well enough.

Currently I am taking care of two children, 3 and 4 years old. They are very energetic and lively kids. I am mainly in charge of getting them ready for school, preparing their fruit and lunch boxes, checking if they have homework, bathing them, and generally just monitoring them.

Before I became an au pair, I've had 18 months of paid live-out babysitting experience, I was in charge of two young children- ages 7 and 9 years old thrice a week. My housekeeping and nanny duties in the Dagohoy household included- taking the children to school and taking them to after school activities such as taekwondo and swimming lessons, purchasing groceries, preparing and cooking meals for the children, maintaining good hygiene practices in the household and bedtime routines. I have no problem with chores.

I have a genuine interest in the well-being of children. I do not easily tire or stress out as I am very patient with kids. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations and I know that I can handle these situations well. I also understand that as children grow they need constant attention, reassurance and guidance to foster their development.

I respect the household rules, and I am very considerate when it comes to the family's privacy.

I'm easily approached and soft spoken. I am generally cheerful and easy to live with. I am not a demanding person and I could be a bit shy sometimes, but if something works not quite as it should, I would prefer to talk and discuss issues and such.

I think one of the best ways to do a cultural exchange is to be an au pair. One of my top goals is to really broaden my cultural relativism. I also love travelling so I try to travel as much as my time and budget will allow, and that is a perk included in being an au pair. It's the perfect setup for me.

Plus it is quite challenging at times and I love a good challenge! Seeing and experiencing things is the best way to grow as a person.

I am really curious to hear all about you and your children so if my skills and experience please you, I am available to discuss your expectations in an interview at your convenience.

Thank you for reading my letter. I hope you consider me.

Kind regards,
Cleo
