Hi!

My name is Matilda and I am 18 years old. I live in the south of Sweden and have done so my whole life, but I would love to travel as an au pair to another country and discover more of the world! I am currently studying my last year of high school, but when summer comes I am longing to try something new. I started reading some au pair blogs a couple of years ago and I think it would fit me very good. I love the idea of being able to move abroad, become more independent and discover new things but still have the security in getting to be a part of a new family, and at the same time be with children. I very much look forward to get to know you and learn about your country as well as teaching you about Sweden and my culture.

I would describe myself as an happy, understanding and responsible person. I like to have things organized and I am quite the perfectionist - for better or for worse! In my spare time I enjoy exercising in different ways, baking, taking photographs, reading or just relaxing and watching movies. I have played the violin for the last 10 years and I like singing so music has always been a big part of my life. I also like doing outside activities, however, as it is often windy and bad weather where I live, I look forward to hopefully be able to do that more and try some new exciting things!

This last year I have been working at a nursery school/kindergarten, with children aged 1-5, during my school holidays. At this time I have a total of 80 hours of practice from there, but I have planned to be there during some more of the Christmas break and in the spring. Being there, I have played both indoors and outdoors with the children, read books, changed diapers and put the youngest one's to sleep after lunch. I really like being with the children, answering all their questions and getting to know them. You cannot feel other than happy when they give you a hug! I have also taken care of my cousin's child some times and my neighbor's children which has been very fun. As an au pair I would like to take care of children aged 1-10 years to be able to use my knowledge I have.
