Introduction:
We are a happy, loving, fun and busy family. We are located in Woodside, CA, in the mountains, full of redwood trees, scenic views, amazing wildlife and just minutes away from beautiful hiking and biking trails. While in the middle of nature, we are also close to civilization, approximately 15-20 minutes to Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City, 30 minutes to Silicon Valley and 45 minutes to San Francisco. We treat our au pairs like family members as well as professionals. Our au pair will have comfortable living quarters, good food, exposure to different ethnic cuisines (Californian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Thai, etc.), and acquire good childcare, cooking, cleaning, and English skills.
Our Personalities:
We love to sing and dance and act like kids when we play with our kids, but all the while keeping them safe. We love the outdoors, traveling and playing board games and we have an extensive board game collection. We travel locally now due to pandemic, and will travel out of state, once it is safe to do so.
We believe in raising our children with positive instructions and kindness, and to promote their own interests, personality and potential, free of societal gender and image pressures. We believe in treating all people, animals and the environment with respect and kindness, of course, this means we will treat our au pair with respect and kindness.
Our daughter, Mira (DOB 12/27/16), and son, Ethan (DOB 3/6/19), are both very loving, happy, and playful. Our daughter loves pretend play, reading, singing, dancing, parks, riding her bike, tricycle, drawing, Legos, puzzles, board games. Our son loves to play with cars and trucks, read, sing, dance, pretend play, parks, cuddle, ride balance bike and drive his toy car.
Au Pair's Responsibilities:
We are looking for an au pair to help with childcare and some chores. Primarily take care of one child as the older child will be at school; at times take care of both. Act as a good role model to the children (proper language, positive instructions, etc.) Training in childcare and chores will be provided. Help to take care of cat. While not required, we would prefer an au pair who can help with driving kids to preschool.
Au Pair Requirements:
Likes children, hardworking and strong work ethic, must be able to follow instructions, speaks English or Mandarin fluently, non-smoker, reliable. Excellent references. Vaccinated. Preferably an au pair who appreciates the beauty of our location; we are in the mountains, just off of a major highway.
Benefits:
You will get your own private bedroom. as well as access to the common areas (living room, deck, kitchen, etc). All of our food is considered shared; you are welcome to it, and we will do our best to accommodate any special requests that you have when we order/buy groceries. You will be treated with respect and kindness. You may borrow our car once you have obtained CA driver's license and have demonstrated that you are a safe and good driver.
Nancy and Jeremy are currently working from home and are both fully vaccinated. The kids will be vaccinated once they are eligible.
