Introduction of the family offering the au pair / nanny job:

SAFETY WARNING: if you see any contact details below, DO NOT CONTACT THIS FAMILY but report it to us! It might be a scammer who will ask you for money.

Lovely au pair needed for a welcoming and supportive family to help with our 5 and 6 year old boys mainly in school term time. Role is predominantly pre and post school help.

We are looking for a caring, friendly and energetic au pair to be part of our happy, active family We have attached good references from our previous au pairs for you to review. Our most recent au pair returned to us for a second au pair experience after a few months back at home and was with us for a total of 20 months. Our ideal timing for a start is late August/early September but we may have some flexibility to start earlier if preferred. You must have the right to come to the UK without a visa.
We have two gorgeous boys Connor aged 5 and Elliott who is 6 November. We have had a number of amazing au pairs over the past few years. All have been wonderful and we have loved having them as part of our family. We all formed a strong bond with them and enjoyed learning from them and having a new family member.

We live in a lovely town called Berkhamsted which is a 30-40 minute train ride to London. Berkhamsted has lots of sporting facilities, restaurants and bars (within 5-10 minutes walk from our house). In addition to being close to London it is close to the countryside and there are some beautiful walks to go on very close by. There is a good community of au pairs here and we think it has loads to offer.

You will have your own big room and bathroom on the top floor of the house. It is great space with a double bed and new shower room and of course good wifi connection and a speaker.

Elliott will begin Year 2 in September and Connor will be in Year 1 class. They both love school and are quite sociable little boys. When they are not at school they both enjoy playing with cars, trains, Lego and listening to stories. Elliott loves books and has recently started playing chess. He is also football crazy and is a Man Utd fan Connor loves singing, trains and drawing he is always singing and is a chatterbox!

We also have two cats who love attention too!

Our boys are both at school during term-time so we mainly need someone who can help from 7-9am and from 3pm-6.30pm.

A typical school day is preparing breakfast, getting the boys ready for school and then walking them there (which is 15 minutes away). The day is then your own until school pickup at 3.15pm. After school, there are sometimes activities to walk them to and then home for dinner. These are usually simple meals e.g. pasta, fish fingers. At home there are various games and activities to keep them entertained. They play really well together most of the time! One day each week I work from home and do the school drop off and pick up so you don't need to on that day but we do still need help after pick up.

Mike is a teacher at a primary school whilst I work in London. Mike will have the same school holidays as the boys (12 weeks per year) so we can offer flexibility to you during the school holidays so you are not expected to look after the boys all day in the holidays. You will also have free time each day from about 9.15am to 3pm whilst the boys are at school.

We have a cleaner who comes once a week to do the main cleaning.

We are looking for someone has had previous experience of looking after children and who really enjoys spending time with them. We need someone who can speak and understand English but have a language school nearby if you are hoping to have lessons. We will make you welcome and help you to meet the local au pair community if you want to do so. You will be welcome to come out with us on family days out if you would like to.
