We are a happy and lively family of four living in the lovely Essex countryside between Chelmsford city and Maldon town (35mins train ride from London), with plenty to offer. Together we have a mixed European family background and we embrace, understand and welcome different cultures, customs, languages and cuisines. We look forward to hearing from happy, bubbly, outgoing and independent candidates, who are also confident drivers.

We are a young family and working professionals (shipbroker and a lawyer), still enjoy going out and having fun, so we would love an outgoing and sociable au pair who would like to share some good times with us occasionally rather than just being a worker.

Our ideal Au Pair would be outgoing, bubbly, friendly, easy to talk to, with a sense of humour. We are looking for an Au Pair who has ideally experienced living on her own or away from family, who is able to look after herself, prepare her own meal sometimes, someone who is reasonably confident and happy to go out and meet new people. Our Au Pair must be patient (with children), happy to play with them and be creative with them (rather than just supervise whilst they watch tv); you must be reliable and trustworthy; and able to keep your room and our house clean, neat and tidy. An experienced and confident driver is a MUST.

We very much hope that our Au Pair will stay with us for as long as possible, but 9-12 months is a minimum.

In terms of key duties and responsibilities, these will include school and nursery drop off (8.00am) and pick up (3.15pm); school daily, nursery 3x/pw; help with breakfast, tea time and sometimes bed time; light housework (can be extended to cleaning, if desired, for extra pay). Additional help will be required during school holidays.
