Introduction of the family offering the au pair / nanny job:

SAFETY WARNING: if you see any contact details below, DO NOT CONTACT THIS FAMILY but report it to us! It might be a scammer who will ask you for money.

French-speaking Au Pair needed for at least 1 year in Horsham, UK from August 2019 to help look after cheeky 2 boys, Must be from EU or Tier 5 Visa applicant

Must be from EU or from a Tier 5 visa country. Able to speak French with the children.

We are looking for an au pair who will become an active part of the family and be treated as an "uncle or auntie" or as a "big brother or big sister". We would expect you to be able to step in and help as needed as any family member would.

We hope to find someone who is independent and is not going to ask to go home if they become homesick but someone who will ask for our help to overcome their homesickness because we are hoping that you can stay for at least a year with us, the longer the better! Above all we want you to be happy because: Happy Au Pair = Happy Children = Happy Family = Successful Experience!

As said, we really want you to become part of the family, share meals with us, going on day trips maybe once a month, going to firework displays, school plays, birthday parties and everything in-between. Of course, you can have your privacy, make local friends and go have fun and explore with them as well, and we will help you meet such people.

I work on a rota basis so it is likely that you will not work every week on the same days, therefore we need you to be flexible, as a result you will have more time off than most au pairs get!

You will look after Layton before and after school on the days when I work and you will be helping me with both the boys when I don't work. For example, you might take Marlow to the playground while I do homework with Layton, or you might take Layton to ride his bike while I do something else with Marlow. Sometimes we can do things together like taking the boys to the local swimming pool, to the cinema or a local farm, rhyme time at the library... so it won't always feel like you are working.

On the other hand, you might sometimes look after both boys so I can have a bit of time to myself to take a shower, do some sewing or even read a book for once!

We will never need you to work more than 30 hours per week: 25h of childcare with 5h of housework will be the maximum, most weeks will probably be around 15 hours.

The housework is NOT cleaning the whole house, it's mostly what you would do if you lived with your own family including cleaning after yourselves, children's laundry, ironing school uniforms and things like that. You are not our housekeeper or a slave.

As part of your duties, you will need to support Layton with his homework. In UK schools follow the EYFS, you might like to make some research to find out more about what it entails so you are comfortable helping him with it. His homework would include things like reading, some simple maths, looking for shapes around the house, write some stories about the things we might have done on holidays etc...

In exchange, we will provide weekly pocket money, 2 weeks paid holiday per 12-month period plus all Public Holidays: that is 8 days per year which always fall on a Monday or a Friday, giving you a long weekend to go travelling with friends
We will give you a £100 bonus at the end of the placement if you stay the agreed time or longer. You will have plenty of time to attend a language course during the week and we will help you find local friends.
