Introduction of the family offering the au pair / nanny job:

SAFETY WARNING: if you see any contact details below, DO NOT CONTACT THIS FAMILY but report it to us! It might be a scammer who will ask you for money.

A Veterinarian couple are looking for an au pair. Come to help us with our boys (aged 4 and 5) and our dogs (Weimaraner, aged 2 and 10)

We are a very normal Family from Finland. At the moment we have two boys aged 4 and 5 and if everything goes well we will have another member in our Family at the end of August 2017.

We are both from a middle class family from the same suburb outside Helsinki. Our values are equality and respect for nature - one of the reasons why we are looking for an au pair is that she/he could teach about a diffrent culture and language for us and our children.

We live in a little town with 40 000 people called "Lohja" where nothing really ever happens but the captial of Finland, Helsinki is only 50 minutes busride away. Our house has 4 bedrooms, livingroom, diningroom and a kitchen.

I think the biggest surprise for foreigners coming to Finland is the quietness of the people - it's just normal that people don't say a word more than they have to - otherwise people are nice and hospital.

We have quite set routines in our family so every day and every week run pretty much the same way. This might sound boring for some but good planning and good routines make it easier also for you to plan little holidays.

I (Dad) leave to work very early every day so we are looking for an au-pair that would help us mostly in the Morning-time to make the boys ready for school, drive them to school and sometimes go out with our two dogs (Weimaraner). My wife will be at home with the new baby for 9 months and after that we will probably change shifts and I will be home for 6 months or so, so the you don't have to take care of the newborn.

We offer housing + car to use + on average 350 EUR per month. Weekly work-time would be around 20 hours. Work would be mostly in the Morning-time and maybe a few afternoons in a week depending on the schoolhours and the work will be mostly looking after and playing with the boys.

We speak two languages in our family - Swedish and Finnish. The kids go to Swedish school but their hobbies (Street dance, Field Sports and Soccer) are in Finnish. My wifes hobbies are Agility and Soccer and I try to go running every evening with the dogs and I am the President in the local Lions Club this year. I'm 41 years old and my wife is 33 years old.

It will be easier for you to learn alittle Swedish (not a must though :) before you come here so that you will be able to communicate with the Children. And Swedish is alot easier to learn than Finnish. Then once you are here you can decide wether you want to take a language-course in Swedish or Finninsh. Almost Everybody in Finland understands and talks a little English so you will get along everywhere here.

With us you will learn a new culture, you will have the opportunity to visit Lappland, Sweden and Estonia, learn two languages and discover about the beautiful nature of Finland.

Let us know about yourself :) BRGDS Tuomas, Pia, Sami and Daniel
