I am a single mum and I need someone to help me in the intellectual and maturity growth of the kids, and not just taking care of the basics. I am looking for an active person who understands the importance of this and willing to participate at this level and be my right hand side with the kids' issues.
We are a family of 4: A single mum with a daughter of 4, a son of 7, and my mother of 87 years old. The grandmother has physical limitations due to a broken leg 18 months ago, and also due to age.
We have a person taking care of the grandmother, and we are looking for the babysitter for the kids. We had an au-pair for 3 years. We would like to repeat the experience and enrich us with a new person.
We life outside barcelona, in Sant cugat del vallès. The school is close to home and we have the commuter train station (20 min to Barcelona downtown) close to home, and a huge park. The mother is a Professor at the university and works in Barcelona city, she has lived abroad several years before having the kids.
The mother takes the children to school before going to school and the babysitter has to pick them up from school at 16:30. Take them to activities (swimming, music and so on...), take them to the park or bring the kids' friends to home to play together.
The mother arrives from work at home at 21:00 more or less. The kids have to take bath, eat, do homework, play and so on in the evening....
Weekends are normally free, but I expect that during the week you help me to search for activities to do at the weekend too. However, in order to better coordinate it is expected to be available half day a weekend regularly (every other weekend).
What do we expect from you?
The normal schedule is from 16:30 to 21:00 on school days. I also expect extra time (2slots of about 3hours each) outside kids schedule (mornings or weekend) to advance work (housework and intellectual work) without the kids. Prefarably one of these slots being on weekend (every two weeks for example) to be together with the mum and coordinate things.
The working days with no school the schedule is 9:00-21:00, as the mother works. These are basically 3-4 days a year (local festivities) and then we can arrange separately the vacation time summer (june, july and September) and Easter school vacation.
I expect intellectual help, and not just taking care of the basics such as food, clean. I am very active with the kids but to do so I need to be in touch with what is going around for kids. What is needed for kids changes very frequently as they grow and activities that fits best for them changes. I am looking for an active person who understands the importance of this and willing to participate at this level (one way to say this is that I need a person fully involved intellectually as a father would be, being just one for two kids I need help on this).
The ideal person would be a person who has experience with kids and with the learning process and maturity, a person who can easily learn new tools and applications from the web to use in everyday activities, a person willing to receive emails from different sources to identify activities to do, a person willing to communicate in writing and write down things in files to share and organize information. A person willing to interpret my personality and understand my goals with the kids and able to implement them together. A person who can talk in a foreign language (as mother tongue) to the kids, preferably native English.
In addition, a person who appreciates the value to take care of elder, and willing to empathize with them.
In terms of personality, a person who likes to live simple in material things, but who appreciate nature, respect and values.
