We are a very busy family and need someone to help us with the day to day running of our house and to engage and develop a good, loving relationship with our children as well as ourselves. Typically we would need help in the mornings and afternoons/evenings with all four children and then with the younger two girls during the day. Often Mum will be home so you will be working along side her and will not be required every day in the middle of the day. We are flexible with hours. You would have all weekends off (unless it was prearranged that you would help if Ryan was away) and one day per week (after the kids had gone to school). This role may also suit students who wish to study here.
We need help with not only the care of our children (up to 35 hours a week) but some household duties related to the children such as washing, ironing and basic tidying up. We have a cleaner who comes once a week.
We are looking for someone who loves children, is kind, loving, considerate, respectful, honest, intelligent, responsible, flexible, energetic, easy going, uses initiative, clean and tidy, likes to have fun, has a good sense of humour, is fluent in English, is not lazy and disciplines our children in line with our parenting style.
You do not have to have any formal childcare qualifications but we would like someone who has had previous experience with children under the age of seven, whether that be baby sitting, summer camps etc. The most important thing we are looking for is that you love being around children and engaging with them.
We need someone who is flexible and not a 'clock watcher'. If you are flexible with us, we in turn are very grateful for that flexibility and are generous with additional negotiated time off and extra perks.
In return we are offering a large bedroom with walk in robe and your own ensuite in a newly beautifully renovated traditional Queenslander home as well as unlimited WIFI, phone with monthly credit and public transport within walking distance. We are 6 kms from the centre of town making it very convenient to explore Brisbane on your days off. We are also within 1-1.5 hours of both North and South beaches such as the Gold Coast.
We also have friends with au pairs (including friends across the road!) who we would be happy to introduce you to.
We have previous au pairs and nannies who would be happy to speak to you and give our family a reference.
