Introduction of the family offering the au pair / nanny job:

SAFETY WARNING: if you see any contact details below, DO NOT CONTACT THIS FAMILY but report it to us! It might be a scammer who will ask you for money.

We are a very happy, loving dutch family living in italy and we will make you feel welcome the moment you enter our doorstep..
We have 2 extremely sweet precious boys and one sweet baby girl who is born in October 2016. We need somebody who can offer these kids 2 loving arms, some spare kisses and fun. And who can offer marc and judith help with their crazy life of having 3 kids in a foreign country without family around.... If you feel that this is what you are good at, then join us!

Dear au pair,

Let me introduce us for a moment:
Our family consists of Marc, the father of 44 years old, Judith, the mother of 37 years old, Sidney, the sweet big brother of 6 years old (7 in July), James, our small charmer of 3 years old and one adorable baby girl Savannah (8,5 months old when I go back to work in July). Added to that we have our big hearted Labrador Charlie of 9 years old!

We are dutch, but with our beautiful family we are living in the amazing area of Lake Varese/Lake Maggiore. We live in a beautiful modern house in Gavirate, a town in between Varese (About 15 minutes by car or train) and Lake Maggiore, north of Lake Varese. The house has quite a nice view over the area and the mountains. In about 5/10 minutes you can walk to the centre and in about 15 minutes you can walk to the lake of Varese.

We and the children sleep upstairs and you have a nice room "at living room level" with an extra bathroom one floor down. The room has a beautiful view on the mountains and has its own entrance to the balcony/garden.

Marc and Judith are both pilots based in Milan Malpensa (about 35 minutes drive from our house).
We are a very happy family and pretty easygoing. Honesty and open communication are very important to us. We would like you to be happy, so you can discuss everything with us. We believe, if an au pair is happy, our kids are happy....
We are both pilots, but Judith is currently at maternity leave till July. We think it would be perfect if you could start somewhere around the beginning of June, so you could get slowly settled in the daily routine and the children have enough time to get to know you (and you them), before Judith gets back to work.

Our work routine looks like this:
We have a fixed roster. We work 5 days and are 4 days free (Judith always takes an extra free day per duty). This is in principle then your roster as well. We have a preference request for early duties, so that means we "always" (with exceptions) leave very early in the morning (between 0430 and 0530) and come back somewhere in the afternoon.

Sidney goes to school monday to friday from 0840 till variable times in the afternoon. James is going for the moment only in the morning, but will probably gradually be going longer days as well. Savannah will for now stay at home till she is about 2 years old.
Sidney's and James' school are not the same, so the driving to school routing in the morning will take you about an hour (in the morning it is a bit busier with traffic).

Every now and then Marc & Judith like to have a special evening/day together (in the winter we need an extra day every now and then to go skiing), but this is a special request from our side, which all depends of your plans for your free days.

We have a cleaning lady who comes once/twice per week and marc is a really good cook, so we don't expect you to do a lot of household work. Our idea is to run the household together, so we all help with little things whereever we can. In principle you are with us to help us keeping a stable and loving environment for our kids.

Our job has not always been the easiest job to plan around children and we noticed that with the current situation (us always on early duties and an au pair helping us) there is peace in the house.. The kids know what to expect and it takes the stress from our shoulders for situations in which we are delayed or called out of standby for example. For us, an au pair (and maybe you) is a big life saver and we will treat you like that....
