25 year old American girl

I am 25 years old. I am from the USA, in a state called Washington. My mother home-schooled me until I was 16 when I went to an actual school for the last two years of my schooling. A few years ago, I spent 7 months as an aupair in Rome. It was the most amazing experience of my life so far and filled me with a desire to see more of the world. I also discovered while learning Italian that I enjoy learning different languages. Now, I am back home, working the same job (caregiver) as when I left. I feel a little restless. I know I don't want to live in my hometown for all my life. I want to experience a new country and culture, and learn a new language.

My #1 hobby is reading. I love the ocean. It's my favorite place in the world. Right now my greatest desire is to experience more of the world. Since I live in the USA, it is very difficult and expensive to visit much of it, but I am not looking for a vacation. I want to be able to understand what it means to live in a different country and experience its culture first hand. I also want to learn a new language very well. I hope to find an international family and learn new things every day.

I hope to join a family where I will be considered like an extra family member. I hope that you will always tell me if I have done something incorrectly or if you would like me to do more! I do not play a sport and do not cook very well or play a musical instrument but I am very open to learning! I am fairly easy going, although a little introverted. Once I am more accustomed to a situation, I become much less introverted.

I have been caring for children literally my whole life. I have 3 younger siblings (a sister and two brothers) and would often look after them when my mother had to run an errand or wasn't home. A few times, I also babysat for my neighbors. When I was 15 I spent a summer volunteering at Camp Gifford. The next 4 summers I worked full time at this camp, 2 summers as a lifeguard and 2 summers as a camp counsellor. When I was 20 I found a job caring for adults with disabilities and did this for 2 years. Last year I was an au pair in Rome, caring for a 4 year old and an 11 year old.

I would love nothing more than to be able to spend the rest of my life experiencing new cultures. I'm not the type to get homesick, and I enjoy learning new languages. I am single and there isn't really anything tying me down to Washington. and I hope to learn as many as I can. I would love to find a job as a translator or an interpreter. My ultimate goal is to be able to permanently work abroad. I don't know how to reach this goal though.
